Bridlington Promenade, Yorkshire. Vintage LNER Travel poster by HG Gawthorn.

Product code: S-855

Product information

This poster was produced somewhere between 1923 and 1947 by London & North Eastern Railways (LNER) to promote rail services to the North Yorkshire coastal resort of Bridlington. The artist Henry George Gawthorn has painted many fashionably dressed people enjoying the popular elegant north promenade which is lined with lights and international flags. In the distance, just behind the harbour wall, the funnel of a steamship and masts of various sail boats can be seen.

This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
