Travel Poster was produced for London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to advertise the Greenisland Loop Line in Country Atrim, Northern Ireland. The Greenisland Loop Line, which opened in 1934, was constructed to eliminate the necessity of trains to and from Belfast and stations in the North running via Greenisland. The line was approximately 3 miles in length. The Main Line Viaduct was the largest reinforced concrete viaduct in the British Isles. Artwork by Norman Wilkinson, who studied art at Portsmouth and Southsea Schools of Art. A famous marine painter, he designed posters for several railways and organised the Royal Academy series of posters for the London & Midlands Railway (LMR) in 1924.
