Travel poster was produced for London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote rail travel to Northern Ireland. The poster shows a view of the ruins of Dunluce Castle on the north coast of County Antrim. The castle was first built by Richard de Burgh, Earl of Ulster, in the 13th century. It is situated on 100-foot high basalt cliffs with a sea cave underneath. This poster attempts to capture the beauty and mystery of the ruins. Artwork by Julius Olsson. who was a member of the Royal Academy of Artists. This poster shows Dunluce Castle in a spectacular way. The way that the artist shows the light coming down on the castle is breathtaking to look at!
The image must have been painted from the sea, looking up at the castle.

I believe the age of the original poster to be dated at around 1924.
This is truly an outstanding quality print. It is printed on excellent quality Fujitsu photographic paper. It is not a cheap flimsy poster.
