Isle of Man, Peel Castle. Vintage BR Travel Poster

Poster produced for British Railways (BR) to promote rail and sea services to the Isle of Man. 1949. View of colourful boats in Peel harbour with the 11th century Peel Castle making it's presence felt in the distance. Artwork by Charles Pears (1873-1958), a marine painter in oil who was an Official Naval Artist during the World Wars. He worked as a poster artist for the railways and other clients and was also a book illustrator.

This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
