British Railways travel poster showing a delightful illustration of Robin Hood in Sherwood Forest. 1948-1951. Artwork by Frank Newbould (1887- 1951). Newbold studied at Bradford College of Art, and joined the War Office in 1942. He designed posters for the LNER, GWR, Orient Line and Belgian Railways. Newbold claimed to have started a landscape school in English poster design.
