Piccadilly Circus, West End, London. Vintage LNER Travel poster by Fred Taylor. London & North Eastern Region

Product code: S-365

Product information

Travel poster produced by London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) to promote train services to London. It encourages people to visit the West End for a few days to enjoy the theatres, shops and endless sights. This twilight view of Piccadilly Circus portrays the liveliness and sparkle of West End night life. The Statue of Eros is flanked by London Pavillion to the left and Criterion Theatre to the right. Artwork by Fred Taylor (1875-1963), who was commisioned in 1930 to design four ceiling paintings for the Underwriting Room at Lloyd's and murals for Reed's Lacquer Room. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and other London galleries and worked for the Empire Marketing Board, LNER, London Transport and several shipping companies.

This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
