The Permanent Way, Relaying. Railway Travel Poster Art Print by LMS

Poster produced by London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) showing engineers laying track. The poster is intended to draw attention to the good riding quality of the railway’s track. Artwork by Stanhope Alexander Forbes, who studied at the Lambeth School of Art, the Royal Academy Schools and under Bonnat in Paris. He painted landscapes, town and coastal scenes as well as figures, mainly in oil. He founded the Newlyn School of Art with his wife Elizabeth Adela Armstrong in 1899. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and was one of the Academicians commissioned by the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) in 1924.

This Poster dates to 1924.

This is truly an outstanding print taken from the original poster and is printed on excellent quality Fujitsu photographic paper.  It is not a cheap flimsy poster.

Width 127cm. Height 101.6cm.

The size of this print is very close to the original poster size. We do not reduce the size of our posters because we have found that they simply don't look right in smaller dimensions.  This is part of the reason that our posters are superior to others.

We also pride ourselves in selling prints that have top quality ink and striking clarity.
