Product Description
This Southern Railways travel poster was produced in 1929 to encourage rail travel to Broadstairs in Kent. It boasts ‘Sea, Sands and Sunshine’, and shows a view of Viking Bay. In the background is Bleak House, originally called Fort House, a favourite retreat of author Charles Dickens. In the bay are lots of sailing boats and people enjoying the wide sandy beach. In the foreground is the Victorian promenade complete with gardens and on the cliff top is Broadstairs Clock Tower. Artwork by John Mace.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
