Poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) in 1935 to promote rail travel to Cruden Bay in Aberdeenshire. It shows a man playing golf and is accompanied by a fashionably dressed woman. A young boy is carrying the clubs. To the left is the sandy beach and in the background is the old Cruden Bay Hotel. The artist Frank Newbould (1887-1951), studied at Bradford College of Art and joined the War Office in 1942. He designed posters for the LNER, GWR (Great Western Railway), Orient Line and Belgian Railways.
