Vintage Travel Poster produced in 1938 for the Southern Railway advertising express services and cheap fares to the East Susex coastal resort of Eastbourne. The poster shows a view of the seafront with the promenade, pavilion and holidaymakers crowding the beach. Artwork by Kenneth Shoesmith (1890-1939), who spent time at sea and painted marine subjects. He was a member of the British School of Poster Designers. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd, London, Dunstable and Watford.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
