Travel poster produced for British Railways showing men maintaining two ‘Pacifics’ locomotives at the Doncaster works in Yorkshire. Two workers are painting the A4 class 'Sir Ronald Matthews' locomotive while others are replacing the name plate on the A2/3 class 'Owen Tudor' locomotive. In preparation for this painting the artist was invited to the Doncaster works where he made his preliminary sketches. Artwork by Terence Cuneo, son of the artists Cyrus and Nell Cuneo. He studied at the Chelsea and Slade Art Schools and in addition to a long career designing railway posters, he also painted portraits, ceremonial and military subjects.

This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
