Product code: S-817

Product information

Travel poster produced in 1956 by British Railways (North Eastern Region) promoting rail travel to Yorkshire. The artist Gyrth Russell has painted one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England, ‘Fountains Abbey’. Founded in 1132, it is situated close to the village of Aldfield, Studley Park and Robin Hood’s Wood. It is now a National Trust (Grade 1) listed building set in 800 acres of beautiful countryside offering an elegant Georgian water garden and a medieval Deer Park.

This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
