Poster produced for British Railways (Scottish Region) around 1950 and shows a view from the cab of a Class 5 locomotive on the line between Callendar and Oban. The illustration shows a single track winding through the colourful Perthshire countryside in Scotland. Artwork by Terence Cuneo (1907-1996). From the 1940s onwards Cuneo was commissioned by BR to paint many railway scenes for posters. Terence Cuneo was a prolific painter and his compositions also include portraits, ceremonal and military subjects. The artist studied at Chelsea and Slade Art Schools, London. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd. London & Dunstable.
