Product information
Poster produced in 1936 for the Southern Railway (SR) promoting train services to the South. The poster shows a smiling little boy in a brown coat carrying a suitcase. He is standing at the end of the platform in Waterloo Station talking to the fireman of locomotive No 755 'The Red Knight'. The enchanting childlish text below reads, 'I'm Taking an Early Holiday Cos I Know Summer Comes Soonest in the South'. The picture was originally a black and white photograph taken by Charles E Brown and later coloured for poster reproduction.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
