Poster produced in 1949 for British Railways (BR) to promote rail travel to and within the Isle of Wight. The poster shows a pictorial map of the island, 'The Garden Isle', boasting ‘Sunshine, Scenery and Sport’. Various landmarks and places of interest are indicated along with shipping routes from Lymington, Southampton and Portsmouth on the mainland. Artwork by Tom Smith.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
