Product information
Vintage travel poster produced around 1910 for the Liverpool Overhead Railway (LOR) promoting splendid views of 6.5 miles of the Liverpool Docks and River Mersey. The LOR opened in 1893 and was the first elevated electric railway in the world. It was locally referred to as the Dockers Umbrella and was also the first to use automatic electric colour light signals. Although it escaped nationalisation in 1948, it fell into costly disrepair and finally closed in 1956. Artist unknown.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
