Vintage poster produced for the London, Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote rail travel to Lytham St Annes, Lancashire. The poster offers ‘Sea, Sunshine and Sport’ and shows a woman in riding clothes and red beret on a horse on the sand dunes. A windmill, sea and pier can be seen in background. Artwork by Charles Pears, a marine painter in oil who was an Official Naval Artist during the World Wars. He worked as a poster artist for rail companies and other clients and was also a book illustrator.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
