Paris, Short Sea Routes with The Pantheon. Vintage SR Travel Poster by Frederick Griffin

Product code: S-775

Product information

Poster produced for the Southern Railway (SR) in 1932 to promote cheap weekend tickets to Paris. The poster shows fashionably dressed men and women strolling in front of the Pantheon. The Pantheon was designed by Jacques Germain Soufflot (1709- 1780) and was built between 1764 and 1781 on the site of an earlier church dedicated to St Genevieve. The Pantheon was later secularized and reconsecrated several times, finally becoming a mausoleum and memorial for France's illustrious citizens. Artwork by Frederick Griffin.

This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
