Product information
Poster produced in 1924 for London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) to promote rail services to The Peak District in Derbyshire. The poster shows the formidable silhouette of Peveril Castle standing sentinel in the background whilst in the foreground a country road passes through a quaint village hamlet sloping down towards the valley. Artwork by Leonard Campbell Taylor who was born in 1874 in Oxford and went to the Ruskin School of Art. He later became a student at the Royal Academy School and during the war he served as an official war artist with the infantry and eventually also with the Royal Navy.
