Product information
This poster was produced for Great Western Railway (GWR) and Southern Railway (SR) in 1946 to promote rail travel to the Thames Valley. It shows an area of the Thames Valley with people setting off in boats to investigate and enjoy the small fertile island which proudly displays its vibrant majestic trees. The talented artist, Walter E Spradbery (1889-1969), studied privately and was a member of the Society of Industrial Artists and Designers. He designed posters for the SR and London Transport.
