In 1962, British Railways Eastern Region introduced a fleet of twenty-two Deltic diesel electric locomotives. This poster was produced to mark the centenary of the Flying Scotsman service and project the modernity of the new Deltics. The poster shows an illustration of The Flying Scotsman in 1862 (top left), rendered in a sepia effect for an antique look, and again in 1962 as the epitome of sleek modern design and speed. Artwork by Bagley.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
