Product Description
Travel poster produced by British Railways (BR) to promote train services to the Norfolk Broads, ‘for the holiday that is different’. 1948-1965. Shows people boating on a tranquil lake with a windmill in the background, birds and ducks in the foreground amongst the rushes. Artist Frank Henry Mason (1876-1965) was educated at HMS Conway and spent time at sea. He painted marine and coastal subjects, and as well as designing posters for several railways, was also involved in engineering and shipbuilding.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
