Product Description
London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) produced this poster to promote train services to The Trossachs in Scotland via the East Coast route. The skilful use of subdued colours portrays this tranquil scene of Ellen's Isle and Loch Katrine beautifully. 1926. Artist Tom Purvis (1888-1957), rallied for the profesionalisation of commercial art and in 1930 he was one of the group of artists who founded the Society of Industrial Artists. In 1936 he became one of the first Royal Designers for Industry.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
