The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, or VSOE, is a private luxury train service from London to Venice that is popularly referred to as the Orient Express. The opulent 1920-1930 style carriages offer possibly the ultimate experience into the elegant age of rail travel with delightful vintage cabins, elaborate cuisine and an itinerary of Europes finest romantic and scenic cities. This travel poster was produced in 1982 promoting the Orient Express which ran between London, Paris, Milan and Venice. Artist Pierre Fix-Masseau has chosen the oldest shopping mall in Italy, the ‘Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II’ as his stunning background feature with the train passing in the foreground. In the centre are two white doves, the symbol of love and peace.
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
