Product information

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, or VSOE, is a private luxury train service from London to Venice that is popularly referred to as the Orient Express. The opulent 1920-1930 style carriages offer possibly the ultimate experience into the elegant age of rail travel with delightful vintage cabins, elaborate cuisine and an itinerary of Europes finest romantic and scenic cities. This travel poster was produced in 1979 promoting the Orient Express which ran between London, Paris, Milan and Venice. French artist Pierre Fix-Masseau has chosen a heart shaped window to frame his illustration of Paris to symbolise the City of Love. Using simple shapes he has captured the Seine River with several of its 37 bridges. Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Palace and the Pantheon also feature within the view. The train is passing through in the background and at the forefront is a ghostly silhouette of arguably the most iconic Parisian structure, the Eiffel Tower.

This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
