German railway guide, Cassel and the weser. The cover of a 1936 German Railways guide book, in English to promote tourism, illustrated by the von Axster-Heudtlass - Werner and Maria. By 1936 the artists used for such work would have been vetted by the then Nazi Government and indeed many went on to be 'officially' sanctioned artists by the regime (such as the von Axster-Heudtlasses), whilst others would flee.
