'Walton-on-Naze', LNER poster c 1930
Vintage travel poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway, ( LNER ) showing a view of this Essex coastal resort from a cliff-top golf course, beside a tower or folly. At this time Walton was a rapidly growing watering place with a pier (now one of the longest in Britain), esplanade and a fine beach and was famous for its fosils and antediluvian remains. Artwork by Frank H Mason (1876-1965). Printed by Gilmour & Dean Ltd, Glasgow.
The writing on the poster says Walton on Naze, it's quicker by rail
This is truly an outstanding quality poster. It is printed on Fuji crystal archive photographic paper and is by no means a flimsy poster.
